ZIONS VIEW - William H. "Wild Bill" Lepley, 81, of Zions View, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at his home. He was born Sept. 27, 1929, in Snyder County, a son of the late Richard E. and Madeline (Beaver) Lepley and stepson of the late Mae Lepley. He was married to the former Helen M. Hood, who preceded him in death. William retired after more than 30 years of employment with Georgia Pacific and its predecessor, St. Regis. He was a member of Friendship Community Church, Dover. William enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by one son, George R. Lepley, of Zions View; three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan K. and Jeffrey Abel, of Zions View, Karen R. and Albert Spangler, of York, and Julia M. and Donald Weyant, of York Haven; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, all of whom lovingly called him "Peace Pop;" six brothers, Erman, Rick, Dean, Fred, Ralph and Gary; and three sisters, Shirley, Floris and Sarah. Two additional great-grandchildren are expected in 2012. He was preceded in death by one son, James W. Lepley, and one daughter, Beth Ann Gilberthorp. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by the funeral at 10:30, at the William E. Little Funeral Homes Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, with the Rev. John M. Harman officiating. Burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens.
