William Showers Obituary
Milton, Pennsylvania - William Harrison Showers Jr. passed away on March 27, 2026. Born on Feb.8, 1934, he was the son of the late William H. Showers, Sr. and Esther A. (Kint) Showers.
Bill was married to the love of his life, the late Mildred "Millie" Hendricks Showers, for 59 years until her passing in 2010.
He was a devoted father and survived by his children William L. Showers, Crystal J. (Steve) Reed, and Melanie A. (Doug) Deegan. He was a proud grandfather to Bill, Ben, and Tyler Showers; Lindsay Blyth, Josh Pahl, Zach Reed; and Cole, Alexa and Chase Deegan. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Maeve Showers and Max Dubek, Brayden and Cami Showers, Julia and Ryan Showers, Millie Lennon Blyth, Jacob Pahl, Kameron, Charlotte and Harper Reed and James Deegan.
Bill is also survived by his sister, Edna Mae Shanok, and his brother, Charles R. Showers, along with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick "Fritz" Showers, and his sister, Patricia Zarr Showers.
A proud member of the Milton High School Class of 1952, Bill was active in both football and baseball. He continued his love of sports by playing baseball and softball for many years in the area. He was also an avid bowler. Bill was a dedicated Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan as well as a LA Dodgers fan. He was known as a 'wizard' when it came to his knowledge of sports trivia!
Bill had a long and dedicated career. He was first employed by A&P Supermarkets and then moved on to Continental Can Company. He then became an owner of Montandon Meats. Later, he was employed as a supervisor at American Home Foods, and in his retirement, he drove for USTA.
He was a lifetime member of the Milton Moose Club and loved "signing the book" daily.
Bill especially enjoyed traveling with Millie, creating many lasting memories together. A few of their favorite places were California, Hawaii, and Tortolla of the BVI's.
Bill will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends and relatives will be received on Friday. April 3, 2026, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton. Funeral services will begin at noon with Rev. Dr. Stephen G. Shirk officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery.
