William R. Buck Obituary

Winfield - William R. Buck, 73, of Penns Drive, Winfield, passed away on July 6, 2025, at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg. He was born in Lewisburg on Oct. 28, 1951, as the son of the late Earl W. Sr. and Mildred (Woolsey) Buck. He was happily married on Nov. 14, 1970, to the beautiful former Emma Reichley who survives.

William was a 1970 graduate of Milton High School, and he worked as a butcher and carpenter for various local businesses such as Clover Meat Packing, Troutman's Meats, Pennsylvania House, New Tech Tooling, Wood-Mode, and Catawissa Lumber. Additionally, he served his country and was a veteran of the Army. William was a stubborn, strong willed, hardworking man for many years until his health forced him into retirement. William held his faith dear to his heart and attended the Church of New Life. In his spare time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and liked to catch snapping turtles with his family. William enjoyed having everyone together during holidays and picnics, in which he was a great cook particularly when it came to his gravy. William was a jack of all trades and a master of jokes. He had a great sense of humor especially when a laugh was needed. He loved his entire family with his whole heart and would have stopped at nothing to help or protect them. Most importantly he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. For those that know him, he will never be far from the heart.

He is survived by his wife, Emma; three sons, Anthony Buck of Winfield, Brian Buck and wife Rachel of Middleburg, and Eric Buck of Hummels Wharf; a daughter, Stephanie Mottern and husband Eric of Middleburg; a brother Eugene Buck of Milton; two sisters, Debra Poff of Milton, and Sherry Heimbach of Mifflinburg; six grandchildren, Troy Buck and wife Alexis, Kordell Bingaman, Jordyn Buck, Kiahna Bingaman and fiancée Emily, Brianna Buck, and Ethan Buck and fiancé Cali, and three great-grandchildren, Aubree, Alyssa, and Delilah.

William was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Stacy Buck; three brothers, Earl Buck Jr., Paul Buck and Richard Buck, and a sister, Robin Kiefer.

Friends and relatives will be received from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 11, at the Church of New Life, 8700 Buffalo Road, Mifflinburg where funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Butch Woolsey officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Church of New Life.
