Middleburg - Willam E. "Junior" Hassinger Jr., 80, of Middleburg passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Linda Diane (Straub) Hassinger for 59 years until her passing on Sept. 10, 2024.
William was born on Aug. 20, 1945, in Franklin Township, Snyder County. He was the son of the late William E. Hassinger Sr. and Mable (Heimbach) Hassinger.
Junior was a 1963 graduate of Middleburg Joint High School. He retired from Wood-Mode Inc. and was previously employed earlier in his life at Kline Motors, Kinney Shoes, and Beavertown Block. He was a member of Christ "Hassinger's White" Lutheran Church and where he formerly served as Treasurer and Sunday School Superintendent. Junior was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and taking rides in the country. He found pleasure spending time talking to people. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his three children, Kim Hassinger and his wife Lisa, Sheri Keister and her husband Alan, and Suzanne Zeigler and her husband Roger; three grandchildren, Heather Hassinger, Travis (Chelsea) Keister, and Jacob (Samantha) Keister; two great-grandchildren, Emma Keister and Bradley Keister and one due in August; a brother, Dennis (Vicki) Hassinger, and two sisters, Helen (Roy) Knause and Martha (Mel) Wentzel.
Per Junior's wishes, funeral services will be private with Rev. Wayne Muthler officiating. Burial will be in Hassinger's White Church Cemetery, Middleburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Junior to Christ "Hassinger's White" Lutheran Church c/o Sheri Keister 40 Big Rock Road, Middleburg, Pa., 17842.
