Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania - Wayne J. Walter, Sr., 90, of Sunbury Road, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Grandview Nursing & Rehabilitation, Danville.

He was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Selinsgrove, a son of the late Garman E. and Katie (Hoot) Walter. On May 18, 1956, he married the former Shirley Ann Lauver, who survives.

Wayne attended Selinsgrove schools. He retired from the Sunbury Textile Mill after many years of service.

He enjoyed camping with his family, earlier in life, in his homemade camper. His greatest love was antique cars, whether attending shows or tinkering on them in the garage.

In addition to his wife of 70 years, Wayne is survived by: two sons and three daughters-in-law, Wayne J. Jr. and Gail A. Walter, of Berwick, Keith A. and Lori A. Walter of Kreamer, and Wendy Walter, of Hughesville; four daughters and four sons-in-law, Judith M. and Jamison S. Reinhart, of Shavertown, Debra L. and Robert T. Houseknecht, of Sunbury, Patsy A. and Timothy G. Zerbe, of Sunbury, Mary J and Todd A. Pensyl, of Mount Carmel; his 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and his two brothers and one sister-in-law, Richard Walter, of Selinsgrove, and John and Sharon Walter, of Northumberland.

He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Lee Walter, in 2022, his twin sister, Lorraine Mull and brother, Robert Walter.

Services will be at a later date.
