Tower City, Pennsylvania - Virginia C. Pickett, 79, of East Grand Avenue, Tower City, passed away on May 22, 2026, in Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.


She was born on Oct. 13, 1946, in Easton, a daughter of the late Wilbert M. and Mabel (George) Henning. On Nov. 14, 1963, she married Rev. David H. Pickett, who preceded her in death.


She was a member of Pine Grove Wesleyan Church.


Virginia enjoyed playing the piano, diamond art painting, puzzles and crafting, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.


She is survived by her sons David Pickett (Jeffrey Jordan) and Jonathan Pickett (Vickie); her daughter Deborah Stevens (Larry); daughter-in-law Carol Pickett; grandchildren Eric, Darryl, Letitia, Zach, Joshua, Kerri and Skylar; and 13 great-grandchildren.


In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Nathan Pickett, and her sister, Charmaine Hess.


A viewing will be held Saturday, May 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Augustaville Wesleyan Church, 2556 PA-890, Paxinos, where the funeral service will be held at 11 with pastor Tim Moore officiating.


Entombment will follow in Orchard Hills Cemetery, 211 Baldwin Blvd., Shamokin Dam.


In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia's memory may be made to the Hub Wesleyan Church, 1329 Schwaben Creek Road, Dornsife, PA 17823.
