Virginia C. Ocker Obituary

Virginia C. Ocker, 79, of Montoursville, ran to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Jan. 2, 2020, at the Gatehouse.

She was born Dec. 5, 1940, a daughter of the late Charles Lee and Winifred Hazel (Rishel) Ranck. On March 31, 1995, she married William Ocker and her passing breaks a marital union of almost 25 years.

Ginni was quite the fashionista, always dressing in the bright colors that portrayed her personality and loved to wear beautiful rings, usually gifted by her husband Bill.

She worked at Montgomery Mills, Selinsgrove School District as a school bus driver, and enjoyed some celebrity status as a tour guide for BKW Bus Lines. Next on her journey was Furman Foods, where she worked as a Human Resource secretary.

Everyone enjoyed teasing Ginni because she always took it so well. In her spare time she enjoyed arranging flowers and decorating the house. She and her husband, Bill loved to entertain, especially at Christmas time when their home was always so beautifully decorated for the holidays. Bill was a loving and doting husband who took wonderful care of Ginni.

In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Barb Ranck; sister-in-law, Shirley Ranck; brother-in-law, George Funk; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ginni was predeceased by her son, Larue Jonathan Doebler, her second husband of 25 years, Charles Beck; siblings, Thelma Bieber (Preston), Art Ranck (Faith), Polly Staggert (Frank), Fory Ranck (Betty), Phyllis Bower (Charles) and Russell Ranck; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Hare and June Funk; and brother-in-law, Donald Hare.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Washington Presbyterian Church, Route 15 South, Allenwood, with Pastor John Rees and Pastor Michael Cantine of Ginni's church in Northumberland, presiding.

The family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Ginni's memory be made to the Gatehouse, which was a wonderful place for Ginni and Bill to spend their last days together or to a charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are by the Kaufman Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
