Virginia A. Martin Obituary

Virginia A. "Sis" Martin, 76, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after a brief illness.

She was born April 21, 1943, in Port Royal, a daughter of the late Lewis and Sarah (Arnold) Martin.


She is survived by two brothers, Gary L. Martin and wife, Karen, of Kreamer and Leroy Martin of Mount Union, and a number of nieces and nephews and extended family. She dearly loved all her family and loved spending time with them.


She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Charles Martin; and one sister-in-law, Wanda Martin.


Sis worked through Suncom Industries at various places cleaning offices and washing dishes.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove.

Sis enjoyed traveling, going out to eat, camping, watching NASCAR, especially Mark Martin, and was a Phillies fan. She loved listening to Re-Creation and attended their performances whenever she could.


A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Guss Funeral Home, Mifflintown, followed by the funeral at 2, with the Rev. Ryan Gephart officiating.

Interment will be in Locust Run Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to help with the funeral expenses be sent to Guss Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.
