Turbotville, Pennsylvania - Violet Mae Golder, 84, formerly of the Turbotville area, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:35 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2025, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.


She was born Sept. 22, 1940, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Clifton Lavern and Marion Lorraine (Gottschall) Ryder. On July 31, 1959, in Hughesville, she married Donald N. Golder, who survives. They just celebrated their 66th anniversary.


Violet was a graduate of Muncy High School.


She was employed as cleaning staff at Muncy Valley Hospital, a nurse's aide at Gold Star, Danville and Milton, and in the cafeteria at Warrior Run School District.


She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading, cooking and fishing.


Surviving in addition to her husband of 66 years, are one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Marc Snyder, of Lewisburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Karen Golder, of South Carolina, and Randy and Donna Golder, of Georgia; one brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Carol Ryder, of Texas; two sisters, Rose Kaufman, of Montoursville, and Tammy Ryder, of Montoursville; six grandchildren, Kimberly, Julie, Michael, Kelsey, Kayla and Aaron; and eight great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jane Golder; one son, David Golder; one brother, Gary Ryder; one sister, Lily Ann Ryder; and one brother-in-law, Ed Kaufman.


Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 25, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where the memorial service will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Marc Snyder, officiating.
