Lewisburg, Pennsylvania - Verne Franklin Inch, 84, of Lewisburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Oak Glen Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lewisburg.
He was the husband of the late Margaret "Peggy" (Lindig) Inch, who preceded him on March 31, 2021. He was born on May 27, 1940, in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Russell A. and Thelma (Sechrist) Inch. Verne was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier.
He was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove, the Snyder County Historical Society, the Rotary Club, and the Selinsgrove American Legion Post No. 25 and was member of the funeral Honor Guard. Verne was also a member of Boy Scout Troop 419, Selinsgrove, and formerly served as Scoutmaster.
He enjoyed woodworking, tending his rose garden, photography and anything aviation, especially attending airplane shows.
He is survived by his stepchildren John (Wendy) Dreese, Julie Eister and her husband Bill Abers, DeAnn (Robert) Lockcuff and Donnelle (Christopher) Wilke; six step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; a niece Heather; and a nephew Jeff.
Verne was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Marlin and Phoebe Inch.
A graveside service officiated by Rev. Robert P. Doll and military honors accorded by the Selinsgrove American Legion Post No. 25 and Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6631 will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Sassafras Street, Selinsgrove. Following the service a luncheon will be held at Marzoni's, 834 N. Susquehanna Trail, Selinsgrove.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Verne to Troop 419, 120 S. Market St., Selinsgrove, PA 17870. Arrangements by the V. L. Seebold Funeral home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove.
