Mount Pleasant Mills, Pennsylvania - Verna I. Maneval, 90, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Richfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation.


Verna was born on March 27, 1936, in Union Township, Snyder County. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Jacob and Mabel Naoma (Wise) Glace, Sr. On Oct. 16, 1953, she married the late Palmer Wallace Maneval, who preceded her in passing on Sept. 21, 2003.


Verna attended Port Trevorton area schools. She was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting many children over the years.


Her hobbies included quilting, collecting lighthouses, watching cardinals, adult coloring books, cooking, baking, planting flowers, animals (especially cats), and spending precious time with her family.


She attended Aline United Methodist Church.


Verna is survived by her daughter, Karen (David) Kratzer; grandchildren, Michael (Christy) Gelnett, Jennifer (Jay) White, Andrew (Christine) Kratzer, Wendy (Craig) Fowler, and Lori (Daniel) Simon; great-grandchildren, Marissa, Jayden, Kayla, Chara, Cole, DJ, and Jed; sister, Faye Trageser; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate Maneval family.


Along with her husband and parents, Verna was preceded in passing by her daughter, Dianna Gelnett and her husband, Dennis Gelnett; and siblings, Harvey Glace, Jr., Marlin Glace, James Glace, and Jean Day.


A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, with Pastor Pete Carnahan officiating.


Interment will immediately follow in Ebenezer Church Cemetery.
