Thomas O. Rodgers Obituary

Thomas O. Rodgers, 70, of 213 Warsaw St., Marion Heights, passed away suddenly, Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Geisinger - Shamokin Area Community Hospital.


He was born in Ashland State Hospital on June 10, 1950, the son of the late Thomas and Ethel (Owens) Rodgers.


Thomas was a 1968 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1968-1972 and later worked as a Postal Letter Carrier until his retirement in 2007.


He was member of Grace United Church of Christ in Mount Carmel, Free and Accepted Masons Lodge of Mount Carmel, Marion Heights Fire Company, Millheim Fire Company, and the Catawissa VFW. Thomas enjoyed riding motorcycles with son, Jamie, going to his camp in Coburn, Pa., hunting, fishing, and playing guitar. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends. He was helpful to his neighbors and enjoyed cooking and delivering Thanksgiving dinner platters to his friends.


Thomas is survived by his son, Jamie T. Rodgers and wife Michelle of Elysburg; two grandchildren, Ashlie Rodgers and Zachary Rodgers of Elysburg; a sister, Nancy Supitina of Mount Carmel; a brother-in-law, James Lesko and wife Terrie of Mount Carmel; a long-time companion, Sandy Peck of Coal Township; a former wife of 22 years, now separated, Linda (Lesko) Rodgers; and nieces, nephews and cousins.


He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Frank "Sub" Supitina.


A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 26, at C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Joan Brown officiating. Social distancing and masks will be required for attendance of the viewing.


Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
