Thomas Alan Gallup, 76, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, at Homeland Center.
Born July 6, 1947, in Williamsport.
Surviving are his life partner of more than 30 years, David M. Colestock; his son, Thom Gallup and wife Ingrid; his brother, Bob Gallup and wife Ginny; grandchildren, Ashlee, Lilith, and Anna; and several nieces and nephews.
A consummate musician, Tom was a gifted vocalist, pianist, organist, and flutist. A graduate of Mansfield University, he was passionate about teaching, performing, and conducting.
Tom was first and foremost a music educator, teaching vocal music at Warrior Run, Williamsport, and Redland high schools. He served as organist and choir director in several churches in the Williamsport area and at Calvary United Methodist Church in Harrisburg.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Pine Street Presbyterian Church, 310 N. 3rd St., Harrisburg. A music prelude will precede the service and a reception will follow. Free parking is available on the street using the ParkMobile app with the code LUVHBG or in the South Street Parking Garage.
