Danville - Thomas E. Forney, 73, of Danville, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born on Aug. 11, 1952, in Danville, Pa., the son of the late Charles "Sam" and Mary Catherine (Von Blohn) Forney.

Tom graduated from Danville Area High School in 1970 and attended York Academy of Arts, York, Pa., and received a certificate in commercial arts.

Tom was employed as a graphic designer for Weis Markets and went on to AdOne from where he retired.

Tom was a man of many talents, most notably known for his skilled hands and passion for woodworking. Tom had a special affinity for animals, particularly dogs and cats. He also enjoyed music. Tom found his greatest joy in the laughter and love of his children and grandchildren, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

He is survived by one son; Ryan Forney and his partner Maria Regina Lim Cornejo of Williamsport, Pa., and one daughter; Sarah Forney Schiro and her husband Michael of Danville, Pa.; as well as four grandchildren whom he adored; Simon, Noah, Ellie and Tala. Tom is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as his former wife and lifelong friend, Cynthia Foulke Forney Walzer of Danville, Pa.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers; Ronald Forney, Charles Forney, and Richard Forney.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Tom's Life to be held on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Shiloh United Church of Christ, 512 Bloom St., Danville, Pa., with the Reverend Shannon Borchert officiating. Friends will be received from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville, Pa.
