Northumberland, Pennsylvania - Terrance Hoffman, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, teacher, coach, and United States Army veteran, passed away peacefully on Aug. 16, 2026 — his 79th birthday.

Born Aug. 16, 1947, Terrance was the son of Shirley and Robert Hoffman.

He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1969 and went on to dedicate many years of his life to serving his country. His military career included Airborne and Ranger training, assignments in the Panama Canal Zone and Vietnam, service in Germany, and additional education and training at West Point. One of his favorite assignments was at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif., where he worked in the Mojave Desert with United States armor units and troops.

After completing his military service, Terrance faced the challenge of transitioning to civilian life. He found his next calling in education, becoming a teacher and pursuing one of his greatest loves — coaching football in Florida. Teaching and coaching allowed him to continue leading, mentoring and making a difference in the lives of others.

After many years living in Florida, Terrance and his beloved wife, Clydean Hoffman, decided to return to Pennsylvania and their roots after 57 years of marriage.

Terrance was known for his good looks, his ability to truly listen, his way with words, and his natural leadership. He also had a special fondness for Hallmark movies.

He is survived by his wife, Clydean Hoffman; his daughter, Aimee M. Hoffman; his brother, William Hoffman of Philadelphia; and his granddaughters, Pandor Coit of Tennessee, Jessica Edwards of Michigan, and Julie Edwards of Tennessee.

Terrance lived a life marked by service, leadership, and devotion to his family. His legacy will live on through the people he taught, coached, led, and loved.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
