Bloomsburg - Talmage "Tuff" Johnson, age 93, of Hidlay Church Road, Bloomsburg, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at his home.

Born on Jan. 17, 1932, in Sunbury, he was the son of the late Truman and Grace (Lehman) Johnson. He was 1948 graduate of Sunbury High School and resided in Boyles Run Valley, Lower Augusta Township, Northumberland County, for much of his life. He resided in Bloomsburg for the past four years.

Tuff owned his own drywall contracting business. He last worked for Hepco Construction Company in Selinsgrove.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Tuff was a member and elder of Mountain Presbyterian Church in Sunbury. He was also a member of the Herndon Masonic Lodge #702.

He enjoyed woodworking, restoring tractors, puttering in his workshop, and farming.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Ira Johnson, Harry Johnson, Truman Johnson Jr., and Oscar Johnson; two sisters, Norma Bidlespach and Francis Gladfelter, and the mother of his children, Priscilla (Reitz) Johnson.

Surviving is his daughter, Sharon Nixon, of Bloomsburg; son, Kevin Johnson, and his wife Gail, of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren: Robert Nixon, Jayanne Nixon, Benjamin Johnson, Katherine Hamilton, Cynthia Hamilton; two brothers, Ralph Johnson, of Winfield and Dale Johnson, of Dover, Pa.; a sister, Ida, wife of Marlin Inch, of Manchester, Pa., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Rev. Gordon E. Smith, of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Military honors will be performed by the combined American Legion and VFW honor guard.
