New Cumberland, Pennsylvania - Susan Mae Straub, 76, of New Cumberland, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026. Born July 5, 1949, in Shamokin, she was the daughter of the late Lillie Belle and William "Hook" Straub. She was raised in Trevorton and graduated from Line Mountain High School in 1967.

Sue's work eventually brought her to New Cumberland, where she had a custom home built — a true reflection of her independence and determination. She was a dedicated employee of the Department of Defense at New Cumberland for more than 35 years and retired as a computer specialist.

Sue found great joy in working in her flower gardens, crafting, and quilting, but even more so in sharing her handmade treasures with those she loved. She was also an avid Penn State football fan and enjoyed cheering on the team with her family. A lover of friendly competition and family tradition, she took great joy in the spirited family sports "pools" held for every major game — a testament to the fun-loving spirit she helped foster throughout her life. Sue had a special gift for bringing people together, making every holiday and celebration memorable with laughter, games, and moments that will be cherished for years to come.

Those who knew Sue best will remember her for her honesty, sincerity, and the deep care she showed to family and friends. Her laughter could fill a room and often did.

She is survived by her brothers, John Straub and his wife, Sandy, and Daniel Straub and his wife, Bonnie. She was a loving aunt to Crystale Straub-Moyer (Keith Moyer), John "JD" Straub (Shelly Straub), Rachel Taylor (Jeff Taylor), and Rebecca Martin (Mike Martin). She is also survived by her cherished great-nieces and great-nephews: Cole, Cora, and Cooper Moyer; Nolan, Olivia, and Marcella Taylor; and Colton and Paisley Martin. She also leaves her longtime friend Sherry Paylor and her beloved Bichon, Bella.

Our heartfelt thanks to Agnes, who lovingly cared for Sue and her mother over the past months.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home LLC, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, with a viewing from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Trevorton. A memory tribute may be placed at www.foustcares.com.
