Steven March Obituary

Steven March, 67, of Beaver Springs, passed away on Nov. 28, 2017, after a long, strange trip with cancer.

He was the loving husband of Robin Barbour for more than 45 years.

He was born Sept. 15, 1950, and was raised in Boyertown by his parents, Ralph and Millie March.

A man to look up to, he was loved for his strength of character and passion for life. He was about peace, love, understanding, equality and fairness. He had a song for every moment. His family and dear friends were the loves of his life.

Steve earned his bachelor's degree at Muhlenberg College and his master's in Integrative Education at Marywood College. He worked for the state of Pennsylvania where he was lovingly known as Dr. Daycare for his commitment to the well-being of children. A Boy Scout leader, soccer coach, green thumb and all-around clown, he brought light and enthusiasm into every situation. An avid beekeeper of 40 years, he shared his knowledge with students of all ages.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Cass and Jenny, of Ithaca, N.Y., and Keanan and Maura, of Philadelphia; the Barbour family; and his brother, David March.

Even in death, he gives to others as a donor for medical education and research, through Pennsylvania's Humanity Gifts Registry.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Relatives and friends are invited to share memories at BitnerCares.com of Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made at beeandbutterflyfund.org with "Steve March" in the "Message of Support."
