Stephen V. Scoviak passed away peacefully on March 23 at Geisinger Hospital after a short illness. He was the youngest child of the late Victor W. and Evelyn S. Scoviak (Renner), born Sept. 5, 1957, in Sunbury, Pa.
He is survived by two sons, Kenny and Justin Scoviak (Tiff), and one granddaughter, Peyton. In addition to his parents, Steve was proceeded in death by his older brothers and sisters, Richard Scoviak, James Scoviak, Patti Guyer, Donna Kurtz, Jayne Fox, Anna Comrey, Barry Scoviak and Sandy Shemory.
For many years Steve worked as a welder at Ceco and for the last 10+ years he worked with his friend, Mike Kreamer Construction, maintaining his rental properties and doing home renovations.
When he wasn't working, Steve enjoyed fishing, watching football, taking his dog Skitz for walks, going for long walks around the marina, or putting together puzzles with Bev. He wasn't one to sit idle for too long, unless he was warming a seat at The Wharf, chatting it up with Paige and Friends.
Burial in Northumberland Memorial Park will be at a later date.
There will also be a Celebration Of Life for Steve later this year.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Northumberland County Area On Aging who went above and beyond. We appreciate all you did for Steve, Bev and their dog Skitz. We'd also like to thank GMC's 5th floor West Medical Surgical ICU, nursing staff and his doctors, every single one of you showed such caring and compassion while Steve was under your care. Thank you very much.
