Elysburg, Pennsylvania - Shirley J. Shearer, 88, of Elysburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2026. Shirley was born in Danville, at Geisinger Medical Center on Aug. 24, 1937, a daughter of the late Earl A. and Dorothy E. (Ramer) Kline.

Shirley was a graduate of Danville High School.

Shirley worked at Danville State Hospital in the laundry department for 36 years before her retirement.

Shirley was a lifetime member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Riverside.

Shirley enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. She loved animals, especially cats and goats. Shirley loved to cook and although she lived alone, Shirley would cook for an army and then call her family to come. Above anything else, Shirley loved and was devoted to her family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Earl A. Kline; mother, Dorothy E. (Ramer) Kline; daughter, Cheryl Bookmiller, of Bloomsburg, on March 21, 2024; grandson, Joshua Mordan on Dec. 24, 2020; and sister, Janice Yeager on Dec. 15, 2025.

Shirley is survived by three daughters, Jackie Ervin and her husband, Jim, of Elysburg, Brenda Artley and her husband, Terry, of Riverside, and Judy Keen and her husband, Jim, of Delaware; six grandchildren, Courtney and her husband, Michael, of Catawissa, Debbie, of Bloomsburg, John, of State College, Jennifer, of Danville, Kyle and his wife, Faith, of Northumberland; seven great-grandchildren, Dawson, Levi, Savannah, Landon, Cheyenne, Brinley and Olivia; and sister, Judy A. Berry and her husband, Chuck of Ohio.

Family and friends are invited to attend Shirley's funeral services on Friday, May 15, 2026. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 426 Sunbury Road, Riverside, PA 17868, with Pastor Greg Molter officiating. Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, 2956 PA-61, Sunbury PA 17801.
