Shirley Jean Schreffler, 89, of Rebuck, entered into eternal life on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

She was born May 19, 1930, in Leck Kill, a daughter of the late Charles D. and Mabel (Paul) Snyder. On Sept. 18, 1948, she married Clarence D. Schreffler and they celebrated 70 years of marriage last year.

Shirley was a 1948 graduate of Pine Park High School, Leck Kill.

She was employed at Dalmatia Blouse Company and Snyder's Greenhouse in Leck Kill. In her earlier days, she worked on the family farm and on neighboring farms harvesting fruit and vegetables for her father's huckster route.

Shirley was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Leck Kill, where she participated in the LCW and served as a children's Sunday school and Vacation Bible school teacher.

Shirley loved flowers. Her carport and landscaping were immaculate and most colorful. She also enjoyed canning and watching birds from her "perch" on the carport. The love of her life was her family, especially her grandson and great-grandson.

Shirley is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen W. and Diane of Dornsife, and Kim A., of Rockledge, Fla.; grandson, L. Drew Schreffler and his wife Nicole; 19-month-old great-grandson, Keegan Lee Schreffler; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Eugene Keiter of Millersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by two brothers, Burton and Paul; and seven sisters, Alma Miller, Hilda Rebuck, Anna Smith, Evelyn Phillips, Edith Schorr, Verna Snyder, and Dot Snyder.

At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Shirley's memory to the Organ Fund at St. John's Lutheran Church, 4330 Schwaben Creek Road, Leck Kill, PA 17836.
