Shirley Conrad Ward was born Jan. 20, 1937, in Sunbury. She passed peacefully in her sleep March 10, 2025, at the Nottingham Village Care Facility in Northumberland.

Shirley was one of 14 children born to the late Wilbert and Susanna Lenker Conrad. Shirley married Clarence (Bill) Ward on July 10, 1954.

She worked for most of her adult career at the Danville and Sunbury Textile Mills.

She loved country music and went on many trips to watch her favorite Country artists perform. She was a wonderful aunt to her nephews and nieces as well as many great and great great nieces and nephews.

Shirley was proceeded in death by her husband Clarence Ward and their daughter Mary Jane Ward as well as 10 brothers and sisters. Elsie Cross, Dennis Conrad Sr., Viola Mangle, June Benner, Ralph Conrad, George Conrad, David Conrad, Lee Conrad Steven Conrad Sr. and Doris Conrad.

She is survived by two brothers Stanley and his wife Dorothy of Sunbury and Jerry of York; one sister Helen Reitz of Sunbury; two sister-in-laws. Lena and Margaret Conrad.

Shirley was an avid gardener and loved cats.

The services will be at the Wolfs United Lutheran Church, 167 Seven Points Rd., Sunbury, 17801. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 17, with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in the adjoining Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury.
