Shirley E. Crossley, 84, of Bloomsburg, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 25, 2018, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born May 17, 1934, in Rebuck, a daughter of the late Harlan Lee and Hilda (Rothermel) Schreffler. She was married to Carl E. Crossley who preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 2011.

Shirley attended Mahanoy Mahantongo Joint School, and then graduated from Mansfield State Teacher's College in 1957.

Shirley taught home economics for 30 years at Central Columbia High School, two years at Milton High School, and a year at Prospect Valley High School. She touched the lives of thousands of students during her career.

Shirley was ever-productive and enjoyed sewing, gardening, painting, cross stitch, embroidering, and spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by three children, Elwood Crossley and wife Lori of Casper, Wyoming, Eugene Crossley of Bloomsburg, and Elaine Dickinson and husband Merrill of Albany, Ga.; one sister, Leah Unger of Leck Hill; four grandchildren, Brock and Jill Crossley, Lindsey and Matthew Dickinson; three-stepgrandchildren, Kassi Overton, Melissa Smith, and Danny Walsh; and five great-grandchildren, Calyn, Carmine, Camille, Matthew, and Aliyah.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville, followed by the funeral at 3, with Pastor Robert Strozyk officiating.

Internment will follow in Columbia Hill Cemetery where Shirley will be laid to rest next to her husband.
