Shirley E. (Lyter) Adams, 80, currently of Sunbury and formerly of Liverpool, entered eternal rest Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, at Sunbury Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Shirley was born Jan. 25, 1944, in Liverpool, a daughter of the late Barner William and Florence Audell (Shirk) Lyter. In April of 1977, she married the love of her life, John David Adams, who preceded her in passing on March 5, 2021.
Shirley was a graduate of Greenwood High School. After high school, she earned her associate's degree in nursing. She was employed and then retired from Sunbury Community Hospital as an LPN in the maternity ward.
She was a former member of Sunbury Bible Church and attended Grace Community Church in Herndon.
Shirley enjoyed reading, crocheting, and playing cards, especially with her cousins in the Liverpool Card Club. Her greatest enjoyment was spending precious time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Troutman and her husband Aaron; sons, Mike Adams and his wife Robin and Brent Adams and his wife Allison; and grandchildren, Brandon Adams and his fiance' Jessica Kline, Jordan Adams, Mackenzie Adams, Macie Adams, Liam Troutman, Laila Troutman, Reagan Troutman, and Payton Troutman.
Shirley was preceded in passing by her husband, John; parents, Barner and Florence; and her brother, David Lyter.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N. Front St., Liverpool, PA 17045, with Pastor Doug Weygand officiating.
Interment will immediately follow in St. John (Barner's) Church Cemetery.
