Port Trevorton, Pennsylvania - Ruby L. Phillips, 70, of rural Port Trevorton, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 29, at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born Nov. 8, 1955, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Dean Reinard and Ruth (Shiltz) Reinard Goodling. Ruby was a 1973 graduate of Selinsgrove High School. On Dec. 20, 1974, she married Gary F. Phillips, who survives.
Earlier in her life, she had been employed at the Doctors Convalescent Home in Selinsgrove and for many years, along with her husband, operated a taxi transport service for the Mennonite community.
Earlier, she had attended the Pleasant Valley Chapel. She enjoyed cooking and especially raising and caring for her flowers.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 50 years is a daughter, Trisha Phillips; a grandson, Ashton, and a brother, Rodney Goodling.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Pleasant Mills, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. with Rev. Roger Womer officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Port Trevorton.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to defray final expenses.
