Rosemarie D. Malick Obituary
Shamokin Dam - Rosemarie "Rose" D. Malick, 77, of Jonathon Road, Shamokin Dam, passed away Thursday, June 26, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born January 7, 1948, in Mount Carmel a daughter of the late Anthony and A. Marie (Coyle) Smelter. She married David W. Malick Sr. who survives.
Rose was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
She was a cosmetologist and owned her own beauty shop for several years prior to becoming an LPN. She worked for the Selinsgrove State Center until she retired.
Rose was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Sunbury.
She liked listening to audiobooks, but her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her grandchildren and her family.
Rose is survived her children, Toni Benfer (Shawn), Denise Getchey (Barry), Melissa R. Lenhart (Barry), Michael Malick (Lisa), David Malick Jr. (Billie), Leslie Lawrence (Will), Wendy Vankirk (Rob), Cheryl Bailey (Brian); 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; stepbrothers Dan and Earl Malick and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Megan Millard officiating.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
