DuBois, Pennsylvania - Roger Lee Dreese, 86, of DuBois, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.
Born on Sept. 2, 1938, in Freeburg, he was the son of Vern and Vedora (Wagner) Dreese and had 6 siblings all of whom have preceded him in death. Those siblings are Raymond Dreese, George Dreese (Boop), Pete Dreese, Harvey Dreese, Dorothy Dauberman and Eleanore Boyer, (Toots).
He was also preceded by a step-son Gregg Solida of DuBois who died in 2016.
Roger was a veteran of the United States Army and the U.S. Army Reserves. He was also a proud member of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Roger attended St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church in DuBois. He was a member of the American Legion Post #17, the Masons and was a former Shriner. Roger was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed trips to Montana in search of the "Big Trout" that always seemed to get away. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, boating and just about anything you could do outdoors.
He developed a love for the game of golf and you could usually find him and Joan on a green somewhere chasing the ball around.
Roger was also a regular traveler with the Rambling Turtles Camping Club.
He is survived by a step-son Mike (Leslie) Solida, a son John (Wendy) Dreese, daughter, Julie Eister (Bill Abers), daughter, Deann (Robert) Lockcuff, daughter, Donelle (Christopher) Wilke, and 7 grandchildren. Roger is also survived by his companion, Joan Lewis, with whom he made his home.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 9 until 11.am. at the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc.
The DuBois Area Honor Guard will accord full military honors to conclude the visitation.
