Mount Pleasant Mills - Robert "Bob" P. Steese, 80, of Mount Pleasant Mills, entered into rest Monday, May 5, 2025, at Richfield Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Dec. 4, 1944, in Sunbury, a son of the late Robert P. Bickel and Sarah R. Steese. On Aug. 2, 1969, he married the former Darlene Ann Botts who survives.

Bob attended Sunbury High School.

He served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1966. During that time, he earned a National Defense Service medal.

Bob retired in 2002, after working at the Selinsgrove Center as a childcare aide. He also worked at the Department of Welfare.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 945, Harrisburg.

Bob enjoyed doing work around the house, collecting Lenox houses from Boscovs, and feeding birds and cats.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, he is survived by one daughter, Traci Steese; three sisters-in-law, Carol Botts, Connie Henry, and Wilma Botts; and a cousin, Don Steese.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Verna Graybill; three brothers-in-law, Marvin Graybill, Wayne Botts, and Eugene Botts; and several family members on his mother's side.

The family would like to thank Bob's hospice caregivers, Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, and Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for their exceptional service, especially Diane.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 10 a.m., in Northumberland Memorial Park, where military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 44, Northumberland.
