Robert Albert Madden, 74, of Danville, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 29, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born June 24, 1949, in Danville, a son of the late Robert R. and Pauline (Shupinski) Madden.

Robert graduated from Shamokin High School in 1967 and went on to receive his bachelor's degree in political science, graduating in 1989.

He was married to his loving wife, Delores D. (Gearhart) Madden for 50 years. They were married July 7, 1973.

Robert was a dedicated employee at Merck Cherokee, retiring in 2001.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville and Mahoning Lodge No. 224 F&AM, Danville where he served as Worshipful Master in 1978 and 1979.

Robert enjoyed traveling, especially in their RV, cruising, as well as international travel. He had been actively involved with the Boy Scouts, where he served as a Scout Master. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, all of whom he adored.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert H. Madden (Diana) of Warrington; one brother, Dr. Stephen A. Madden of Ranshaw; as well as two sisters, Laurie M. Andreas (Earl) of Bethlehem, and Louise M. Clausius (Patrick) of Mechanicsville, Md. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Robert's Life to be held Tuesday, May 7, at 1 p.m. at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 W. Mahoning St., Danville, with the Rev. Trevor J. Hahn officiating. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at which time Masonic services will be held.

Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.

The family will provide flowers.
