Middleburg, Pennsylvania - Robert E. "Bob" Hornberger, 80, of Middleburg, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his home.

He was born March 30, 1945, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Rusel and Esther (Loss) Hornberger.

Bob was a 1963 graduate of Middleburg High School.

On March 18, 1967, he married the former Carolyn K. Lenig, who survives.

From 1966-1968, he served in the Army. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and Oversea Bar.

He had been employed for many years at Poloron Homes in Middleburg and retired from Wood-Mode in Kreamer.

Bob's affiliations were Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Middleburg, life member of Heiser-Hoffman VFW Post 5640, Loyal Order of the Moose #1229, and the Reliance Hose Co. 1, all of Middleburg.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time at the river, NASCAR, trips to the casinos, going to the shore with his neighbors and loved animals. He will be remembered for faithfully washing his car.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 58 years is one son, Troy Hornberger and his long-time companion Lynn Eroh; one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Steven Redd; grandchildren, Dylan Allabaugh, Lauren (Kyle) Bettleyon, Caitlin (Bruce) Garner, Donald (Tiara) Shipe; great-grandchildren, Maddox, Delancy, Willow, Oakley, Melody, and Jackson and one great-grandson expected.

A visitation will be Wednesday, June 25, from 10-11 a.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 11 with Rev. Robert P. Doll officiating.

Burial with military honors accorded by the Middlewest Veteran's Honor Guard will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
