Fairfield - Robert E. Kerstetter Jr., 74, of Fairfield, Pa., went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, March 3, 2026, at the Hershey Medical Center.

Born March 31, 1951 in Harrisburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Robert E. and Grace I. (Hile) Kerstetter, Sr. He was the loving husband to Barbara A. (Reindollar) Kerstetter, of Fairfield, to whom he was married to for 50 years.

Mr. Kerstetter was raised in Liverpool, Pa., graduating from Greenwood High School. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree in both History and Elementary Education from Shippensburg State College and ultimately earning his Master's Degree from Bloomsburg State College. With his degree, he then taught his wonderful 5th grade students for 30 years at Middleburg Elementary School for whom he cared very deeply. He was a member of the Gettysburg Historical Miniature Wargamers Club for many years.

Robert had such great love for his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, John R. Kerstetter and his wife Amanda Fortin-Kerstetter, of Fairfield, Pa., Rachel E. Kerstetter, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Anna R. Kerstetter, of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Cider Kerstetter and her partner Adrian Bennett, Kev Kerstetter, Tee Kerstetter, and his cousin Steven Hoffman, of Liverpool, Pa. Other family members include his wife's sisters and their families.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church, 13 East Main St. Fairfield, Pa., with Rev. Gene Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
