Rocky Mount, North Carolina - Robert Edward (Bob/Bucky) Brownwell Sr., 75, (formerly of Sunbury, Pennsylvania) passed away suddenly at his home in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, on Dec. 3, 2025. He was born in Giessen, Bremerhaven, Germany, on July 22, 1950, the son of the late Robert Sheridan Brownwell and Nancy Naomi (Barnhart) Brownwell.

A 1969 graduate of Shikellamy High School, he later attended and graduated from Elim Bible College and Institute. After graduating from Elim, Robert went on to dedicate his life to the Lord.

He was a pillar of strength and support for his family. A devoted father and grandfather, Robert was always there to offer guidance, love, laughter and a sense of humor that could brighten up any room. He cherished family gatherings, and his presence at holidays and celebrations brought warmth and joy to those around him.

Robert had many passions in life, including playing guitar, football, riding his motorcycle, etc., which he enjoyed sharing with his children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he loved so much.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bernadette Perles Brownwell; sons Robert Jr. and Christopher; grandchildren Tyler, Ryan, Hayley, Timothy, Kyle, Victoria, Josiah, Micaiah, Justus and great-grandchildren Paula and Winnie.

Robert is also survived by his sisters, Edna Brownwell-Harmon and Kathryn Brownwell-Mitch as well as nieces Samantha, Ada and Faye; nephews Nathaniel, Michael; great-nieces Laney, Lily, Dahlia, Sea, Allison; great-nephews Tyler, Zachary, Joseph, Tomy, Lincoln and Memphis. His numerous cousins and friends will miss him dearly.

Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth H. Brownwell and his sisters, Linda N. Mossbrooks and Joan L. Meyers.

A funeral service to celebrate Bob's life was held on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at Rise Church, 3520 Bishop Road, Rocky Mount, North Carolina, 27804.

Rest in peace, dear brother, husband, father and grandfather. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
