Richard Lee Lenig, 86, of Montoursville, valiantly went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 10, 1930, in Sunbury, a son of the late Marlin Lee and Viola C. (Emerick) Lenig. He was married to the former Sally A. Schriver who preceded him in death.
Richard served in the Air Force during the Korean War, serving as a gunner on the B-29 Bomber.
He retired as an electronic specialist at Litton Industries and enjoyed his monthly meetings with his retired friends from Litton.
He was a member of Community Baptist Church, Montoursville.
Richard was an avid photographer, an avid sports fan of Penn State football and the Philadelphia Eagles, and loved to travel the Susquehanna River on the Hiawatha.
He is survived by one brother, Robert L. Lenig, of Montoursville; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Unger of Patchogue, N.Y., and Linda Jeanne (Allen) Kashner, of Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Tom Hast officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park with military honors accorded by Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.
