RIchard A. Kerstetter Obituary
Harrisburg - Richard A. Kerstetter, 88, of Lopax Road, Harrisburg, passed away on Dec. 21, 2025, at UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg. Born in West Chillisquaque Twp. on Oct.13, 1937, he was the son of the late Dewey and Helen (Neitz) Kerstetter. He was married for 52 years to the former Jaqueline Bruch who preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 2019.
Richard was a 1955 graduate of Montandon High School. He worked at Brocious Lumber as a kitchen designer, at ACF in engineering development, and then as hospitality leader for Marriott in Swatara Twp. He was a member of the Jaycees Northumberland chapter from 1961 to 1974 and he earned the distinction of JCI Senator. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, bird watching, and woodworking.
He is survived by four daughters, Kelly (David) Staples of Virginia, Carla (Doug) Satteson-Wech of Harrisburg, Michele (Fred) Boylstein of Mechanicsburg, and Julie (Dan) Weiss of Harrisburg; a sister, Judy (Ron) Robbins of Milton; seven grandchildren, Erika (Sean) McGrory, Bradley (Virginia) Satteson, Nicole Boylstein, Jordan (Thomas) Duncan, Allison Weiss, Benjamin Weiss, and Sophie Weiss, and two great-grandchildren, Dylan McGrory, and Jacob Duncan.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; five brothers, Arthur, Herbert, Nelson, Harry, and Larry Kerstetter, and four sisters, Shirley Conrad, Edith Kerstetter, Charlotte Fowler, and Mildred Beaver.
Friends and relatives will be received from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, Jan. 5, at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, where funeral services will be held at Noon with the Rev. Andrew Reich officiating. Burial will follow in Montandon Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.shawfuneralhomeinc.com.
