Harrisburg - Renee D. Bartholomew passed away unexpectedly at her home in Harrisburg on June 11, 2025, having suffered a heart attack. Renee was born on Jan. 19, 1958, in Sunbury, the daughter of Romayne H. Bartholomew and the late Ronald E. Bartholomew.

Renee was a 1976 graduate of Shikellamy High School, a 1980 Susquehanna University graduate and received her Master's Degree from Penn State Harrisburg Campus. She was also a licensed pilot.

She retired from the Pa. Department of Environmental Protection having worked as an engineer for more than 30 years.

Renee was proud to have been a drummer with Shikellamy Marching Braves and then with Milton Drum and Bugle Corps and later the Reading Buccaneers and was a percussionist for the Harrisburg Womyn's Chorus for many years.

She loved animals and left many family get togethers to tend to her pets. She had three race horses and three iguanas now deceased. Currently she had four cats and looked after many feral cats.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her sister, Lori, of Lewisburg; brother Eric of Harrisburg and half brother Justin (Jen) and family of Sunbury; a very special nephew, Bart Del Valle of North Carolina.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
