Raymond E. Houser Obituary

Raymond E. "Pinky" Houser, 81, of Sunbury, passed away Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.


He was born April 27, 1936, in Urban, a son of the late Jennie K. (Lahr) and Adam C. Houser. He was married to the former Mary Louise Maurer who preceded him in death.


Raymond was employed as a bartender and cook at the Mandata Legion Post 504 and he had also worked at Muskin Shoe Factory.

Pinky was a lifetime member of the Dalmatia Fire Company.


He is survived by one brother, Charles Houser; two sisters, Laura Romberger and Patsy Maurer; his companion, Aulwyn Reader and her family; and nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by one sister, Hilda M. Peiffer; and two brothers, Alvin C. Houser and Ernest L. Houser.


A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's U.C.C., 1473 Urban Road, Herndon, followed by a memorial service at 11, with the Rev. John Miller officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Paul's U.C.C Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made to the family, c/o Richard Houser, 114 Apt. B River Road, Sunbury, PA 17801.
