Paula Jo Barnhart, 69, of Sunbury, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, at the Nottingham Retirement Village.

Paula was born April 5, 1955, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Luther W. and June M. (Wetzel) Betsker. On Nov. 26, 1977, she married Ron K. Barnhart who preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1998.

She was a 1973 graduate of Shikellamy High School. Paula served as a waitress at Billman's Restuarant, later the Augusta House. She retired as a secretary from the Shikellamy School District after many years of service.

Mrs. Barnhart was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Sunbury. She was a member of the Sunbury Chapter of the Order of The Eastern Star.

She was a wonderful baker and an avid gardener. Paula hosted many memorable holiday events. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew K. and Amanda H. Barnhart of Sunbury; two grandchildren, Brady and Mia; one sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Gregory Wenrich of Sunbury; one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Cathy Betsker of Selinsgrove, and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, where funeral services will begin at noon with Pastor Eric Light officiating.

Burial will follow in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
