Attorney Myron M. Moskowitz, 93, of 1982 Stetler Drive, Coal Township, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born Oct. 17, 1925, in Shamokin, a son of the late Ely and Fannie (Cohen) Moskowitz. On Oct. 20, 1957, he married the former Helen Joan Kauffman who preceded him in death.

Myron graduated from Shamokin High School, Penn State University, and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He was a veteran of the Army and fought in World War II. He was in the First Calvary in the Pacific and received a number of medals.

Myron opened up his law practice in Shamokin in 1951.

Myron was deeply involved in the Shamokin community. He was a member of the B'nai Israel Synagogue, a member of the Kiwanis, the Shamokin High School Alumni Association, the VFW, the American Legion, and the Masonic Temple, just to name a few.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Michael and Carol Moskowitz of Maryland; one grandson, Attorney Adam Moskowitz of Washington, D.C.; two granddaughters, Dr. Liza Moskowitz and Fara Moskowitz, both of Maryland; one sister, Meta Smith and her soul mate Sol Schwartz of New York; one sister-in-law, Peta Moskowitz of Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his wife and parents, Myron was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. Roland Moskowitz; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cleo and Robert Karns and Marquita and Richard Sire.

Visitors will be accepted from 12:30 to 1 p.m. At Farrow-C.J. Lucas Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, followed by the funeral at 1, with Rabbi Nina H. Mandel officiating.

Burial will be held following the service in B'nai Israel Cemetery.
