Selinsgrove - Michael Ross Anderson, 83, of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025. Born on Dec. 9, 1941, in Northumberland, Pennsylvania, Michael lived a life rooted in family, service, and community. He was a devoted husband to Florence Anderson and a loving father to Christopher, Lisa, Megan and stepdaughter, Kelly. Michael's greatest joy came from the people he loved.

Michael earned his degree in education from Bloomsburg University and began his career as a teacher and guidance counselor before transitioning into banking and financial planning always guided by a desire to help others succeed.

He had a lifelong passion for sports and the outdoors. He enjoyed tennis, golf, and running passing down his love of running to all three of his children. In later years, Michael found joy in walking and playing bridge. His commitment to education extended beyond the classroom. He served as school board president for Selinsgrove Area Schools and remained an active supporter of Selinsgrove Seals football long after his children graduated.

In 2021, Michael was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Though the disease progressed quickly, he met it with courage and determination. As a way to fight back against the symptoms, he attended weekly classes at Titan Strength & Wellness a routine that became a source of strength and support for both him and Florence. Even on difficult days, he showed up with resilience and refused to give up.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Bette Anderson; his brother, Doug Anderson; and his sister, Martha Keener (Judd). He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Florence; his brother, Robert Anderson (Cathy); sister, Ann Moyer (Tim); children, Christopher (Kelly) Anderson, Lisa Boyd (Tim), Megan Anderson (Kacy Denton); stepdaughter Kelly Chase (Dave Cane); grandchildren; Cameron Boyd (Madison), Lucas Anderson (Kristin), Jacob Boyd (Madilyn), Olivia Anderson, Alexander Chase, Ezra Taylor; great-granddaughter, Grace Boyd; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was quietly proud of each one.

The family would like to thank the second floor nursing staff (day/night) of Sunbury Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation; Residential Hospice; and especially dear family friend, Susan Harman each for his or her compassionate and loving support in Michael's final hours.
