Michael Jay Newman
Michael Jay Newman, 56, of Sunbury, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.
He was born Nov. 4, 1963, in Sunbury, a son of Ada Lee (Wise) Newman and the late Arden N. Newman.

Michael attended Shikellamy schools, received his G.E.D., and was employed for many years at Furmano's.

He enjoyed cooking, listening to music, going to the gym, the outdoors, his dog Charlie, and hanging out with his family, especially his great- nieces. He will always remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, we love you.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers and sister-in-law, Arden Newman of Cascade, Mo., and Scott and Mary Newman of Sunbury; two sisters and brother-in-law, Lisa (Newman) Costa of Sunbury, and Lori (Newman) and Theodore Duron of Sunbury; Uncle Edward and Aunt Beverly Wise of Cody, Wyoming; cousin, Tracy (Wise) Apel of Golden Valley, Ariz.;10 nieces and nephews, Nicholas Newman, Heather Bennett, Julia and Hope Newman, Crystal Duron-Gilpin, Katelyn and Cassie Duron, Cody Heintzelman, Shannon and Allison Costa; one great-nephew and three great-nieces, Tyler and Morgan English, Milania Duron, and Cali Heintzelman.

He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Ida and Charles Wise; uncle, Robert Wise; and cousin, Eddie Wise.

Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by a memorial service at 6.

Remembering when we first became friends 9th grade to are camping fishing trips and hard rocking out workouts in the gym till late Thursday when I heard you passed away you were a lot of fun. That I will miss hard to replace good old times and friends. T d f and family. Prayers to the family.

Mike was the type of guy that always lived Life head on and to the fullest. When Life's wind blew, he adjusted his sails accordingly, and he did it with a smile as he most often did!! Michael, you will be missed, but always remembered in our hearts.

My deepest sympathy to the Newman family and all the hearts Mike touched throughout his life. Mike was a good person and had a heart of gold.He will be missed by all of us. I'm glad our paths crossed in life. This guy was fun. May he rest in peace and I thank him for all the memories.
