Trevoton, Pennsylvania - Michael J. Boyer, 78, of Trevorton, passed away on July 29, 2026, in the care of Sunbury Nursing and Rehab. Mike was the beloved husband of Deborah A. (Pennypacker) Boyer, sharing more than 53 years of loving marriage. Born on June 25, 1948, in Trevorton, he was a son of the late James A. and Olga (Sebasovich) Boyer.


Mike was a 1966 graduate of Trevorton High School. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Lycoming Engines, where he was the company's second-longest employee. Mike was especially proud of establishing the company's recycling program. He was a faithful member of Augustaville Wesleyan Church, Paxinos. An avid outdoorsman, he found his greatest enjoyment in hunting and spending time at his cabin along Penns Creek. He also took great pride in maintaining his yard and landscaping, and he had a special love for his dogs.


Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Deborah; daughters, Malinda Scholl and her husband Kevin, and Brandi Boyer; granddaughters, Nicole Mikulak, and Kara Scholl; and sister, Julia Sloditski. He was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas and David Boyer.


A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Northumberland Memorial Park, 2956 PA-61, Sunbury, PA 17801, with Pastor Greg Clendaniel officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Foust Funeral Home, LLC, Trevorton. A memory tribute may be placed at www.foustcares.com.
