Mary Lou Archambault, 79, of Williamsport, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at the Williamsport Home. Surviving is her loving husband, John "Jack" Archambault.
She was born Oct. 31, 1939, in Watsontown, a daughter of the late Byron and Margarite (Matier) Hafer.
Mary Lou graduated from Watsontown High School in 1957 and took many night courses at WACC and Pennsylvania College of Technology.
She retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection after 31 years of service, serving as a clerical supervisor and complaint coordinator. She also worked several years with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Rehabilitation.
Mary Lou loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, biking, tennis, cross country skiing and especially enjoyed walking the dogs and the beach when on vacation. Mary Lou loved dancing, having taken disco and ballroom dance lessons. She especially loved her children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two children, John Lee Adam (Sue) of Allenwood and Jody Lee Budman (Chris) of Allenwood; two stepchildren, Jennifer L. Horn (Jeff) of New Port Richey Fla., and Jeffrey Archambault (Rachel Blackwell) of Manassas, Va.; six grandchildren, Ashten, Ian, Adam, Tayllor, Gabby and Bailey; three sisters, Marion Yeager (Joe) of Watsontown, Joanne Britton of Milton and Carol Foresman (Hugh) of Turbotville. She was looking forward to two great grandchildren who are on their way.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Hafer.
A memorial service to honor the life of Mary Lou will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Covenant Central Church, 807 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will be in Uniontown Cemetery, Allenwood at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary Lou's memory to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701, or the Alzheimer's Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
