Mary Kyle Franceschini, 77, of Serenity Gardens, Kulpmont, formerly of Elysburg, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at Geisinger-Shamokin Hospital of complications from COVID.

Born in Spangler, Pa. on March 19, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Kyle and Winifred (Bearer) Leap.

Mary Kyle attended Portage Area schools. She attended the University of Pittsburgh where she attained her bachelor of science degree in nursing. She worked a variety of nursing positions including private duty, migrant clinics and at Shamokin Hospital. She started a medical assistant program at Northumberland County Vo-Tech. In 1976 she took a position of school nurse at Danville Area High School where she remained until her retirement in 2020. For the next 10 years she worked at Knoebels in the summers where she enjoyed her co-workers and customers immensely. Mary Kyle was active over the years in Ralpho Township PTA, Elysburg Women's Club, Ralpho Township Public Library, and Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church.

She enjoyed boating, camping, skiing, snowmobiling, reading and talking.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert; son, Gregory Franceschini; daughter, Juliann Tino; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Eugene, Scott and Paul Franceschini, Caroline, Grace and Ava Tino; brother, Brian Leap and his wife Jane; and sister, Lauren Leap and her partner Joseph Novaka.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Queen of Most Holy Rosary Church, Elysburg, with Rev. Joseph Scanlin officiating.
