Marvin "Check" Paul, 80, of Sunbury, passed away Tuesday, July 17, at his residence.

He was born May 22, 1938, in Hebe, and was raised by his mother, Daisy (Reed) Paul and his grandmother, Lilly Reed.

Marvin graduated from Mahanoy Joint High School in 1957.

He was employed at a shoe factory in Millersburg, Mandata Poultry, and retired from Brubaker Tools where he was employed as a milling machine operator.

He was a lifetime member of the Herndon Fire Company.

Marvin enjoyed going to Zerbe's Garage to help out and most recently enjoyed going to Marlins Sub Shop everyday.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Patricia (Koons) Paul, who passed away January 19, 2018.

Marvin is survived by three sons, Marvin Paul Jr., of Herndon, Randy Paul and his wife Toni, of Northumberland, and Gary Paul and companion Sherri Snyder Janaski, of Lewistown; and two grandchildren, Lyndsi Paul and Tristan Paul.

A viewing/visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, followed by the funeral at 11, with Barbara Welsh officiating.

Interment will follow in David's U.C.C Cemetery, Herndon.
