KLINGERSTOWN - Marlin Lyle "Pal" Paul, 84, of 105 Creek Road, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at his home with his family by his side. He was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Leck Kill, a son of the late Lyle Andrew and Jennie Irene (Rebuck) Paul. On July 28, 1951, he married the former Barbara Martz who survives. They celebrated 63 years of marriage. Marlin was a 1948 graduate of Pine Park High School, Leck Kill. He was employed as a hydrologist by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 30 years. Pal lived to work and was a lifelong Angus breeder and farmed his entire life. He was an active member of Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, Leck Kill and was a past president of the consistory. He was also a member of the American Angus Association, National Cattleman's Association, the PA Cattleman's Association and the NRA. Marlin loved spending time with his family and dogs and was a Phillies fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Judy Paul, of Klingerstown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ginger and Gene Kehler, of Klingerstown, and Sherri and John Heffner, of Enola; six grandchildren, Andrew Schreffler, Eric Schreffler, Zack Kehler, Natalie Paul Smeltz, Nicole Heffner and Johnny Heffner; two great-grandchildren, Bronson Smeltz and Lyla Schreffler; two sisters, Mae Rebuck and Alda Lesher, and one brother Vern Paul. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lee Paul. A visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, Leck Kill, followed by a celebration of life at 3:30 with the Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating. A private interment will be in Jacob's Cemetery, Pitman. Memorial contribution may be made to Christ Church Memorial Fund, c/o Judy Paul, 326 Pumpkin Center Road, Klingerstown, PA 17941.
