Marlin L. Campbell
Marlin L. Campbell, 86, of Herndon, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2020, after a fall and the complications that followed. He died in his home surrounded by family.

Marlin was born on Dec. 1, 1933, to Anna E. (Raker) Campbell and Marvin L. Campbell. He married Evelyn V. Reed, who survives, on April 4, 1959, and they were married almost 61 years.

He is also survived by three children, Sherri and husband Carl Geissinger; Lori and husband Dennis Hunsberger; Keith and wife Lorie; cousin, Rita Raker and son Jeremy; sister, Shirley Moyer; brother, Earl and wife Tamie Campbell; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Homer and Mark.

Marlin was a 1951 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School, where he was a member of the FFA. He was an avid farmer who loved planting things and watching them grow - he passed that on to his children. He spent most of his time immersed in the many aspects of farming and persisted through the highs and lows. He lovingly cared for pigs, cows and chickens through the years, starting his farming career with many laying chickens and ending it tinkering with a few chickens and selling the eggs.

Marlin was a man of faith, after a near death experience seven and a half years ago, one of his goals was to be baptized. He was able to do that on Aug. 25, 2013. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed family gatherings immensely.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Please check the funeral home website for more details.

James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, is in charge of the arrangements. To sign the online guest book, or to send flowers or gifts directly to the family of Marlin, visit www.reedfh.com.
