Ocala, FL - Lynda "Lyn" Lea Opiela, 65, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, after a brave battle with cancer, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on September 25, 1959, in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, Lyn exuded warmth, joy, and a zest for life that touched everyone she met.

Lyn was the cherished wife of Raymond Opiela, sharing 44 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family, raising three wonderful children: Elizabeth, R. Christopher, and Joshua. Lyn found tremendous joy in her role as a grandmother, especially in spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Kolby and Karli-Jo.

A proud graduate of Shikellamy High School, Lyn's vibrant spirit and love for music and dance shone as she played piano in a high school rock band and was part of the majorettes. Her career was as diverse as her interests, fulfilling careers from Weis Markets to real estate, interior design to home center sales, and the wine industry opening her own wine shop. Her passion, outgoing nature, and genuine warmth made her unforgettable to colleagues and friends alike. Always making people feel wanted, Lyn truly embraced life with open arms.

Lyn embraced life wholeheartedly. She found joy in walking on the beach, bicycling, scrapbooking, and diving into a good book. She loved traveling extensively, driving cross-country and going on many cruises, exploring such beautiful lands as Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama. As a dedicated community member, Lyn was actively involved in her book club, Bible study group, wine club, community volunteering, and the Republican club — always eager to lend a helping hand.

Preceded in death by her parents, Carol J. Moyer and Charles E. Brown, Lyn leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and indomitable spirit. Respecting her wishes, Lyn will be lovingly cremated, and her ashes will be buried at sea. Friends and loved ones will remember her as a beacon of positivity, her outgoing nature forever etched in their hearts.
