Louis V. Grayson, 82, of 716 W. Center St., Elysburg, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021, at his residence.
He was born in Mount Carmel on Nov. 8, 1938, the son of the late Louis V. and Clara (Mihalik) Grubawicz.
Lou was a 1956 graduate of Mount Carmel High School. After graduation he attended a meat cutting trade school in Ohio and later worked as the owner and operator of Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe.
On April 18, 1959, in St. Ignatius Church, Centralia, he married Margaret Mary Gaughan, who preceded him in death on Feb. 26, 1999. On June 23, 2001, in Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, Elysburg, he married Dianne Callahan, who survives.
Lou was a member of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, and a life member of the Clover Hose Fire Company, Mount Carmel. He was an avid sports fan. He loved his Eagles and Phillies, watching wrestling at the high school and collegiate levels, and proudly cheering on his grandchildren at their events. He also enjoyed the game of golf.
Lou is survived by his wife, Dianne Grayson of Elysburg; two sons, Rick Grayson and wife Beth of Sinking Spring, and Chris Grayson and wife Jen of Mount Carmel; a daughter, LeeAnn Singley and husband Ray of Duncannon; two step-daughters, Mary Jo Maff and husband Dave of Bethlehem and Alison O'Brien and husband Paul of Maine; a stepson, Bill Callahan and wife Maria of Elysburg; two grandsons, Jack Grayson and Michael Singley; two granddaughters, Megan Grayson and Rachel Singley; a step-grandson, Nicholas Maff; seven step-granddaughters, Lauren Maff, Taylor O'Brien, Kailey O'Brien, Riley O'Brien, Emily Callahan, Grace Callahan, and Faith Callahan; a sister, Barbara "Jo" Folsom of Illinois; three sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Gaughan, Phyllis Bogetti, and Dolores Wolfe and husband Bob; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his first wife and parents, Lou was preceded in death by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 15, at the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Scanlin officiating.
Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg.
