Lois M. Elliott Obituary
Mifflinburg - Lois M. Elliott, 91, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest on Monday, April 20, 2026, in Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
Born on Oct. 27, 1934, in Laurelton, she was the daughter of the late Harold C. Schell and Kathryn I. (Hoffman) Schell. Lois was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School and Thompson Business College, Harrisburg.
On April 24, 1954, she married Louis Edward "Chap" Elliott at the Lutheran Church in Laurelton, with Pastor Earl Lutz officiating. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2026. Together, they shared many years of love and cherished memories.
Lois was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family and served as the "bookkeeper" for Mifflinburg Farm Supply for many years.
She was a faithful member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she served on the church council, taught Sunday school, and was actively involved in numerous church activities. Lois deeply enjoyed reading her Bible daily and had a heart for reaching out and caring for others. Lois was also an avid walker with two of her friends; they were known as the three amigos by those who saw them on their daily walk.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia L. and Terry Harvey of Mifflinburg, and Brenda L. and Thomas Sweet of Malvern; one son and daughter-in-law, Alan E. and Linda Elliott of Mifflinburg; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Sue Chambers and husband Clarence, and Rebecca Brobst; and a sister-in-law, June Ocker.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Miriam Bressler, Betty Shoemaker, and Nancy Wagner; four brothers, Donald Schell, James Schell, Richard Schell, and Samuel Schell; sisters-in-law, Janice Schell (Samuel) and Bonnie Schell (James); brother-in-law, Harold Solomon, and his wife, Virginia, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Leitzel and her husband Leroy.
The family would like to express special thanks to the Blue Jay Unit of Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village for the care provided to our mother, and to WellSpan Hospice, whose care was greatly appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
