Leonard James "Len" Frits Jr., 62, of Northumberland, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at his home.

He was born May 11, 1954, in Sunbury, a son of the late Leonard J. Jr. and June I. (Reed) Frits.

He attended Selinsgrove Area High School and graduated with the class of 1972.

Following a short stint working at the Selinsgrove Area State School, Len owned and operated HLA, Inc., of Northumberland, for more than 30 years.

Len was a big man with a big heart and passion for telling stories of the good ol' days. He loved music, rum and Jesus. He also had a soft spot for the great outdoors. He spent years enjoying hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. More recently he spent his time enjoying the fellowship of his Christ Wesleyan Church Family (Milton).

He is survived by his children, Chad Frits, of Mooresville, N.C., Christina Benner, of Middleburg, Jessica Frits Roberts, of Raleigh, N.C., and Sarah Sabillon, of Leesburg, Va.; 11 grandchildren, Chase, Alycia, Makayla, Chance, Tyler, Gabriela, Anabella, Axel James, Diezel, Ruby and Cristiano; and six brothers and sisters, Kay Bedell, of Hollister, Calif., Fran Carroll, of Selinsgrove, George Lauer, of Lewisburg, David Lauer, of Selinsgrove, Sheri Badman, of Selinsgrove, and Pam Keller, of Selinsgrove.

He was preceeded in death by his sister, Teri L. Boyle in 2007.

There will be no memorial service, per his request.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made to Christ Wesleyan Church, c/o The Benevolence Fund, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, PA 17847.
